Gustavshof Huxelrebe Beerenauslese 2019
Gustavshof Beerenauslese is a premium dessert wine that enchants with its fine, natural sweetness. The wine is made from hand-picked, raisin-like Huxelrebe grapes, and each bottle is filled with opulent notes of peach, passion fruit and other exotic fruits. When the wine hits the palate, it feels juicy and full-bodied, and its charming character awakens the senses. Gustavshof has created a vegan, biodynamic dessert wine in Demeter quality that combines taste and sustainability – a wine experience from Rheinhessen that goes beyond the usual.
The grapes are grown under close supervision and according to biological-dynamic principles, where quality-oriented manual work plays an important role. Only after a long ripening period, when the grapes acquire a golden color, are they handpicked and carefully processed. The wine undergoes a natural fermentation process with a spontaneous yeast culture from the vineyard and is stored on its fine yeast until bottling. This method gives the wine an impressive fullness and makes it remarkably long-lasting. To preserve its character, the wine is filtered only once, just before bottling.
Gustavshof's Huxelrebe vineyards are located high on the Kloppberg, the highest point in Rheinhessen, approximately 20 km from the Rhine. This high location ensures that the grapes ripen over a long period towards October, when large temperature fluctuations between day and night promote the wine's aromatic complexity. The special microclimate here contributes to freshness and delicacy, even at high ripening. The morning mist supports the development of the noble rot, Botrytis, which further intensifies the flavors and concentration in the grapes.
Gustavshof Beerenauslese is more than just a dessert wine – it is an exquisite experience of terroir and craftsmanship, perfect for those who want to experience something completely unique.
