Through its name, Saint-Romain Sous Roche already tells us about its limestone soil. The 60-year-old vines, which stretch over 3 hectares, are rooted in the marl of Saint-Romain. This specific cradle, located 300m away on the hillside facing the village, takes advantage of its height as well as the warm currents that caress the valley. This location gives Saint-Romain Sous Roche a character of fresh, elevated Pinot with generous aromas of red fruits, while the old vines give it depth and a nice length in the mouth. Sous Roche should be enjoyed relatively young. With four or five more years it expresses itself in a more spicy way and emits some notes of ripe fruit.
